Terms of Service

MatSpace is a physics-constrained workbench for materials research. Meridian covers experiment design and structural analysis. Pedion covers functional property analysis. Mimesis (in design) will cover theory and simulation. The service helps researchers interpret experimental data and produce exportable logs and figures. It is not a substitute for a laboratory notebook, a peer-reviewed method, or independent scientific judgement.

You must create an account to use most features. You may sign in with email and password, or with Google or X if you choose those methods. You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and keep it updated. Email confirmation is required before billed laboratories open. We may send a security notice when a new device signs in. We may suspend or close an account that is incomplete, unverified, abusive, or in arrears.

• MatSpace operates on a prepaid credit system. Packs are sold through Paddle.
• Credits are added to your wallet on a successful purchase. A receipt is emailed and a matching notice is posted to your notification center.
• A small welcome grant may be added when an account is first confirmed. Welcome credits follow the same spend rules as purchased credits.
• Unused credits do not expire.
• Credits are consumed when you run billed operations inside the laboratories.
• Credits are non-transferable and may not be resold.
• Refunds, where available, follow the Refund Policy.

Laboratories run inside your signed-in session. Measurement files, fits, refinements, and figures you open in a lab stay with that session unless you export them. MatSpace does not archive those datasets on our account database as a training set, and we do not train models on your scientific files. Export is the scientific artefact. You remain responsible for backing up anything you need to keep.

You agree not to:

• Misuse the service or attempt to bypass billing, rate limits, or bot checks
• Upload data you do not have the right to process
• Reverse-engineer, copy, or create competing products based on our laboratories
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the service
• Use teams or community pages to harass, spam, or post unlawful material
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

• You retain full ownership of all data, datasets, logs, and figures you upload or generate.
• By using MatSpace, you grant us a limited licence to process your files solely to run the laboratories you open and to operate your account.
• We do not claim ownership of your scientific data or results.
• We do not train models on your data.
• MatSpace, the laboratory names, and the site design remain our intellectual property.

MatSpace provides analysis tools bound by physical models and computational methods. We do not guarantee that any fit, refinement, interpretation, or result is scientifically correct, complete, or suitable for publication, grant applications, or decision-making. You remain solely responsible for verifying all results against your experimental data and the relevant scientific literature.

We send transactional messages required to run the account: email confirmation, password recovery, purchase receipts, credit warnings, new-device notices, team invitations, and service notices. Matching items may also appear in the in-site notification center. These are not marketing mail. Account email is the address we use unless you change it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MatSpace and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of research progress, publication outcomes, or grant decisions, arising from your use of the service.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will try to provide reasonable notice when possible. Continued use after a change to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes shall be resolved in good faith first through contact with us.
